Moses Showing the Brazen Serpent. Signed and dated 1787 21 x 13 ins (53 x 32cms). Black chalk drawing on sheet of buff paper. Current location unknown. It appears to be a preparatory study of a large scale oil painting subsequently engraved for the Macklin Bible. The location of the painting is unknown. Together with St John the Baptist (also lost), it may have been painted for the outer wings of a triptych centred around West’s Resurrection painting now held in St George’s Parish Church, Barbados.
